You Better Buy Your Airline Ticket Now For The 2008 Holidays

The airlines have been hurting as we all know. To cut back on fuel costs many have had to cut back on the amount of flights that are offered. By doing so it will make flights full and have less planes flying around half full. In turn, it has made travelling a bit more challenging than we are used to.

USA Today ran a article out lining where most of the flights are going to be cut. It looks like there will be some 3,000 fewer flights being offered a day during the Thanksgiving season then there was in 2007. This is almost 3 million less seats available for people that normally fly during this part of the season.

You can guarantee that if you are lucky enough to find a seat available that you will be paying 50% more than you did last year. With less flights available for people to choose from the demand for them has gone up. This results in higher prices. You cannot blame the airlines because this is how they make their money. The only people that should be worried are the pilots. If there are 3,000 less flights available then that’s at least 1500 pilots that are not up in the air flying.

If you are one of the lucky ones that can find a flight make sure you are using your airline mile credit card to buy it. This will one day come back to help you when you go to turn them in for rewards. If you do not have an air mile credit card then take the time to find the best airline mile credit card available. Start racking up those airline miles because you are going to need them with the way that ticket prices are going up.
