Why Holiday Bookings are Still Increasing

The time of year has come upon us again, the sun is shining and folk want to get away. The media have always said that vacations will be suffering this year without many people travelling. But is this all true?

Despite all the negative economic talk, more and more people are booking and going on holidays. Despite the power of the currency, Europe is still the main destination for holidaymakers, with just over 40% of those surveyed saying they will be going somewhere on the continent this year. It is also said that travellers will be spending exactly the same amount of money that was spent in previous years.

Holidays are slightly down and this is probably due to all of the media hype behind it all, I can guarantee that if it was not so hyped up in the media then people would not have a clue that we were in any type of recession. As we are all aware UK breaks are being booked more and more so maybe this is one of the reasons why the media has pushed the credit crisis so much? It could be highly possible to actually make people believe they should stay and holiday in the UK and pump the money back into the economy.

Whatever the reason, people are ignoring warnings and still going abroad; there is a huge amount of enquiries for overseas destinations such as Turkey and Egypt. If you took another look at the situation you will come to realise that taking a break in the UK would probably be more expensive then going abroad.
