Since the summer season has arrived, now is the time to take a fun-filled holiday. That’s what holidays are all about – fun, and of course, food. If it’s Ibiza holidays you have in mind, you can enjoy both at festivals! Whether it’s Ibiza, Barcelona or beyond, Spain has a huge selection of foodie events on, to satisfy even the most particular gourmet.

Certainly in Ibiza, there is usually something happening at any given time. They all involve feasting on local delicacies and generally celebrating the food of the region; let’s not forget that this is Spain – home of chorizo, churros and paella.

The Old Town hosts the Medieval Festival, which is a big event. Held in May, it is a great way to experience authentic Ibiza before the crowds of tourists arrive. There will be people in medieval dress, and merry markets selling all kinds of food, both modern and traditional. The focus of the event is around the food, so you should take the opportunity to taste as much as you can, from shellfish, to cheese, to chocolate, to wine – just don’t overdo it! This is also a great event for those travelling with kids, as they’ll enjoy trying the many yummy things, and they can also learn a lot about the local culture at the same time.

There is also a lot on offer for people on Tenerife holidays, in the Canary Islands. Tenerife has its own packed calendar of events, just one of which is the Fiesta de Las Tablas – the Festival of the Boards. This is one event for grown-ups, as it’s when the local wines of the Icod de los Vinos regions are tasted for the first time.

If you find yourself with a taste for festivals, Spain isn’t your only option. Greece holidays to Crete in October will coincide with the Chestnut Festival – a true gastronomic delight for any foodie. Many local Greeks take part in this festival, which hails all that is chestnut-related – it’s a great way to meet the locals, experience the culture, and of course, taste some very yummy snacks.

Fans of Ibiza holidays are looking for non stop partying, excitement and FUN. Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea which has, in the past 30 years or so, become the undisputed party capital of the world. Millions of hedonists flock there every year to spend their days in the sun and their nights partying in some of the most amazing clubs in the world.

There are so many clubs to enjoy on a holiday in Ibiza, you might find that you don’t have enough time for them all. Some of the most famous are Privilege (which is the largest nightclub in the world) Pacha (a franchise club which has a brand of its own), Space (which is an after party club) and Es Paradis (which is most famous for its water parties). Add to this a multitude of smaller clubs and nightspots, and it’s easy to see why Ibiza is widely considered to be the party capital of the world.

When you’re on holiday in Ibiza, be prepared for a somewhat crazy pace of life come nighttime. Daytime is a little more relaxed, with the preferred activity being sunbathing on the beach or strolling around Ibiza Town. As you would probably expect, the island really comes alive after sunset, so with this in mind, Ibiza might not be the ideal destination if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Accommodation in Ibiza ranges from quite low-cost self catering apartments all the way up to 5 star hotels. However, most of Ibiza’s young holidaymakers tend to opt for cheaper apartments as most of their time is spent out on the time or in Ibiza clubs. Holidaying couples can find some gorgeous hotels and villas a little out of Ibiza Town, ideal for those wanting to stay close enough to the action but far enough away to be able to relax.

If you’re heading to Ibiza to make the most of the party scene you should be aware that every club except Pacha closes after September. When the party season starts again, they reopen their doors. So if you have booked yourselves on to one of the Ibiza Holidays that falls outside of June to September you need to be prepared for closed down clubs and very few tourists. It’s also worth being aware that outside of these months the weather tends to be somewhat erratic, so you might find that you don’t need your suntan lotion.

So if it’s a non stop party you’re looking for this summer, an Ibiza holiday might be just the ticket. Prices can be extortionate, so if you want entry into some of Ibiza’s world famous clubs you’ll need to take plenty of spending money.
